la poste du louvre will be entirely renovated by 2018.

program which begun in 2016, will take into account changes in uses, and respect
the heritage and history of the french post office. the architect dominique
perrault is in charge of the project. it aims at transforming this industrial
spot into a mid-block site.
in this context of restructuring the louvre post
office, cahors provided two medium voltage delivery substations equipped with
grany cells and 1000 kva dry transformers.
this emblematic postal heritage building, formerly called "hôtel des postes", was
designed by the architect julien guadet in the 19th century; it will host postal
services 24 h/7 (post office, mail preparation and dispatch centre, carré pro
and one urban logistics platform), services dedicated to neighbourhood
activities (police station, childcare centre, co-working space ...) as well as
commercial and tertiary activities (hotels, offices, shops with a wide range of
opening hours), and social housings.
